Story
CANCER knocked at mums door ! 9 weeks later she was gone ! Mums wishes was to be nursed at home by her family the district nurses and Great Oaks Hospice ! Without them, this wouldn’t of been possible.
Mum was stoic in her approach to battling this awful disease. She said that the nurses at Great Oaks were walking Angels.
There is no doubt that we are a very head strong family and it all stems from mum… and by headstrong, I mean determined and you could even say stubborn!
And that’s why I’ve decided to take on the challenge of Everest Base Camp! I’ll be walking in memory of mum and for those who are no longer with us! In the hope of raising some money along the way 😎
Great Oaks are a lifeline to the local community, they enable peoples wishes to be met so that they can be cared for at home. They provide supportive and Palliative Care on a 24 hour basis for adults in the Community whose quality of life is affected by any life limiting condition. Family and friends are also included in this care.
They need £700,000 each year to fund their services, they only operate with the kind support and donations from the public and the support of numerous local businesses as well.
It is important that we support this local service.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated, big or small!
