Banger Rally 2015 - SALO or Bust · 1 October 2015

The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

My brother, Miguel, Foz and myself have accepted the challenge of driving a banger (worth less that £350) through 7 different countries in 5 days. We start in Cornwall along with other likeminded teams and end up in Italy. Along the way there will be various challenges and events to keep us busy. (and the European beer)

You can find details of the challenge at http://www.bangerrallychallenge.co.uk/

Our team will be raising money for a few charities. I have chosen NAS as this charity is close to my heart.

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with, and relates to, other people. It also affects how they make sense of the world around them.

It is a spectrum condition, which means that, while all people with autism share certain difficulties, their condition will affect them in different ways. Some people with autism are able to live relatively independent lives but others may have accompanying learning disabilities and need a lifetime of specialist support. People with autism may also experience over- or under-sensitivity to sounds, touch, tastes, smells, light or colours.

NAS do a wonderful job supporting children and adults with Autism and without fund raising would not be able to continue this.

Thanks
