Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Last summer, Tom (my brother-in-law) and I foolishly decided we needed a challenge for 2015.  We agreed on a triathlon, a nice sprint distance one, despite the fact that neither of us could swim properly....but then, over the winter, Mrs Fox laughed in my face at the suggestion that it was a decent challenge....so now we're swimming 1.5km in a freezing lake in Birmingham (ok, not quite freezing, but chilly - and probably very murky!), cycling 40km and then running 10km!  Let's just hope we make it to the end in one piece....and without the assistance of St. John's Ambulance!

A few words from Parkinson's UK:

Our work is totally dependent on donations. It's only with your help that we can continue our vital research projects, and provide support and information. Help us to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson's.

Here are just a few examples of how your support can make a difference: £5 could pay for a week of nutrients to grow brain cells in the lab for research. £14 could pay for one of our helpline advisers to give someone newly diagnosed the support and information they need. £20 could fund an hour of care from a specialist Parkinson's nurse. £40 could pay for an education session in a hospital ward. £250 could fund a day of research.
