I’m taking part in The Welsh Three Peaks Challenge to raise vital funds and awareness for a cause that is close to my heart Cancer Research Wales.

I love a challenge so I thought why not let’s do my bit and give something back to society. So I’ve bought my boots, got Vaseline and plasters to hand, charged my iPod, and “Yes” putting my best foot forward the training has started.

The challenge will take in three mountains Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pan-y-Fan. The team will set off at first light on the morning of Saturday 26th May 2012 at the base of Mount Snowdon and climb 1085m. The second of the days climb is Cadair Idris, also in Snowdonia national park, and climb 892m, which is supposed to be harder of the climbs. The third and final leg is Pen-Y-Fan 886m the highest peak in the beautiful surrounding of the Brecon Beacons – all to be completed within 24 hours. I can do it!

Why - Losing someone to cancer changed my whole outlook on life I’d suddenly realise how precious it is. So I wanted to give something back to help others who have been touched by this terrible disease and strongly believe you the reader and me as the fundraiser that together we can make a positive difference with the fight against cancer.
