At Stony BizKids we're aiming to raise £150 to contribute towards Leo's Appeal and support the children's wards at Milton Keynes Hospital. The children at our After School Club are taking part in a sponsored litter pick where they need to pick up and bin 5 pieces of litter every day in March and we need your help to keep them litter-picking! Children also have individual sponsorship forms.

What is Leo's Appeal?

Leo's Appeal aims to raise £200,000 to enhance the children's wards at Milton Keynes Hospital, because every child admitted deserves to receive the best care possible. Along with their charity mascot Leo the Lion, the hospital would like to make the wards, waiting rooms and outpatient areas even more child and family-friendly - making the best use of the areas by creating more attractive or bigger spaces; banishing plain walls and putting up murals and pictures to cheer patients and their families.

Some of the things for which the funds are being raised include: revamping ward areas to brighten them up and make them more fun; improving play areas and providing more toys, using sensory equipment to make a child's stay in hospital a little bit easier- and improving facilities for parents, too.

But this all costs money, and in these austere times the hospital has found itself in the difficult position of having to prioritise expenditure. That's where fundraising comes in, as it enables them to fund those items that go above and beyond the statutory budgets; adding to and not replacing resources provided by the NHS.

So far, Leo's Appeal has raised £150,000 and Stony BizKids would really appreciate your help to help the hospital reach their goal.
