Story
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
This is my father Mr. Malcolm Tonks. 86 years of age, a father of 3 and a proud grandad of 5. A widower after the loss of his beloved wife Dorothy in 2006. An incredibly kind, extremely clever and gentle man who's mind is being slowly and cruelly stripped away by Alzheimer's.
Dad now resides in a care home surrounded by amazingly carer's who look after his every need as I can no longer provide the level of care required to keep Dad safe in the home where he has lived for 60 years.
The journey to this current situation has been far from easy, extremely stressful and at times emotionally destroying.
Dementia is such a devastating and cruel disease and by donating to this charity we can make help a difference to anyone unfortunate enough to suffer in future.
