Steve Richards - London 2020 for Crohns and Colitis UK

London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
Last year Jack was diagnosed with Crohns and to be honest its been a pretty crappy time for him with lots of hospital trips and new medications (sometimes making him much worse than before), this journey is far from over and as a chronic disease its something he has to adapt to and live with for the rest of his life.
However the Crohns and Colitis charity have been extremely supportive in helping him understand his disease. Crohns and Colitis UK help support research and lobby government to release new ground breaking drugs and treatments. This is the bit which made me want to support them as I can see from the many trips to Jacks consultants that there is lots to be done and research funding is key - therefore if I can drag my fat backside around London and help raise some funding to aid these guys I am definitely up for it - I said I wouldn't run another Marathon as the training is so tough (who really wants to run 20 miles on a cold dark Friday night possibly through sleet or rain!!) - but what Jack and many other sufferers go through is far worse - so dig deep people and lets raise as much money as we can.
2020 was to be the year I ran London Marathon, plus Clare and myself walked 50k across the Brecons. All raising money for CCUK.
2020 has been a crazy year with most events cancelled or turned into Virtual events - I will be doing VLM20 as a virtual run on the 4th Oct 2020, but trekfest will have to wait for another year, but the fundraising doesn't stop!!!
