Story
I (Steven Prior) am taking part in the 'Iron Man PLUS 2012' on behalf of Shooting Star Children's Hospice and CHASE.
Having taken part in many challenges over the last 5 years including the London marathon, Paris to Notting Hill bike ride and Devizes to Richmond kayak I have decided this is the last event I will be doing for this fantastic cause.
I really would like to go out with a bang with regard to the amount of money I can raise and I promise I won’t be hounding anyone again next year!!!
This really is a tough one and I would appreciate you digging deep to help me hit my target amount of £3000
I can’t stress how grateful I will be for your support and if anyone doesn’t know the Shooting Star Hospice it really is a place that is worth supporting.
Thank you in advance for your sponsorship it really is MUCH appreciated.
The challenge takes place on the 11th to the 16th June and consists of the following;
Day 1 - 10 Mile Climb Up Scaffell Pike
Day 2 - 50 Mile Off Road Mountian Bike Ride
Day 3 - 26 Mile Marathon
Day 4 - 75 Mile Road Cycle
Day 5 - 25 Mile Kayak Along The River Thames
Day 6 - Sleep All Day!!!
Although our challenge doesn’t involve swimming like a traditional Iron Man we think that we’ve more than made up for it with the addition of mountain biking and kayaking. The climb is up (and hopefully down) Scafell Pike and the Kayaking is up the Thames which will almost certainly result in a few of us going for a swim).
Unlike many charity events we can confidently assure you that we do not think that this will (in any way) be ‘FUN’ and so any donations received will be properly earned!
