Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In January of 2012, I will be embarking on an epic fundraising challenge to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world at 19340feet.

I will be doing this on behalf of Scope, the charity for people with cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is the most commonly diagnosed physical condition in the UK, and occurs around the time of birth when part of the brain fails to develop properly. It can happen to any child.

The money raised from my Kilimanjaro trip will allow Scope to continue running their vital services which are designed to support disabled people in every aspect of their lives from birth through to adulthood.

I have pledged to raise at least £3350 for Scope and this is where I need your help and support.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Scope and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. However big or small, everything you give is very welcome and very much appreciated - thank you all so much. I will update this page often to let you know how the fundraising (and training) is going.

28/01/11 - Thank you so much to those who have already donated - my training is coming along - off to Mt Snowdon soon, the lakes at Easter and Ben Nevis during half term - can't wait.

11/04/11 - Just discussed my trip with children at school - got a fantastic response which bodes well for the next few months fundraising - they have some brilliant and fun ideas to raise money - thanks kids - it means a great deal to know you're on board.

15/04/11 - just climbed Snowdon today (Lanberis route - I know, not the hardest but still challenging enough for a novice like me) This has given me a tiny taste of what I've got myself involved in - got to increase the training !!

5/7/11  - just put in a big chunk of money raised from a non-uniform day and some super children selling cakes and lemonade and having a 'sponsored silence day' - thanks kids! Thank you also to the brownies for raising some cash - looking forward to telling you all about my challenge soon. Just been on a training weekend to Snowdon and climbed (most of) Ben Nevis a few weeks ago - hard work but recovery time is getting less each time. 6 months to go!!
