Cheers for taking a bit of time to visit my JustGiving page, I'll explain what it is for.

Me and my Dad are going to be running the Preston Guild marathon on October 28th 2012, regardless of the fatigue or injuries we will have accumulated from our current training. The link below is for further details of the marathon:

We are doing this in memory of my grandma, also my father's mother, who passed away recently at the end of May. She was only diagnosed 4 years ago and the disease caused a very fast deteriation in her language and ability to communicate, though her memory to recognise people remained until the end. I found it rather beautiful when she recognised family and old friends who she had not seen for a long time, with a smile and tears at the same time. Almost at realisation at why they were visiting.

I am doing this for a Alzheimer's Research UK as I am a current master's student in Neuroscience and looking to continue towards a PhD. I was very lucky in that my grandad helped to fund my masters degree as a step towards a research career, and so I want to help raise money for a charity that funds research into a disease that  that has affected him deeply.
