Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page which was created to raise money for the Brain Tumour Research charity. 

Originally set up as a wedding fundraiser for Steve and Siobhan's wedding, the intention of this page was to ask wedding guests to donate to the charity in place of giving us wedding gifts. Having experienced being diagnosed with a brain tumour first-hand, Steve was particularly keen to help raise money for this UK-based charity in order to help fund research into this disease which can wreak havoc on the lives of sufferers and bring pain and devastation to their loved ones due to its poor prognosis. I and Steve's family now hope to use this page to raise money in memory of Steve's life and create a lasting legacy which will help fellow brain tumour sufferers in the future. The ultimate dream would be for a cure to be found. 

Funding for brain tumour research is hugely under-funded in the UK. Brain tumours are indiscriminate; they can affect anyone at any age. They are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under the age of 40 yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. There are new developments in brain tumour research all the time but they’re not happening as quickly as research developments into other cancers and illnesses, partly due to lack of funding. Your donation will help to re-set this imbalance.
