Story
My Daughter was diagnosed with a very rare life threatening disorder which has left her with very little movement below the neck and requiring a machine to breathe for her 24/7 called SMARD. Her care is very tiring and time consuming and we have a team of carers that support us over night and some days.
Zoes Place have provided us with much needed respite and Jaime with a specialised, safe and fun environment to play and meet other children with extra needs.
Before Zoes Place opened our nearest respite centre was over an hour away but Zoes Place is only 10 minutes, meaning she can have regular access to sensory rooms, hydrotherapy and soft play. Zoes Place is currently free to us as it is fully funded by private donations, in order to keep going it requires £760,000 each year. We all want to do our bit to keep it going as Jaime loves getting out of the house and going to Zoes Place (in fact gets quite grumpy when we come to pick her up!).
