We provide care to survivors of torture to rebuild lives and promote human rights

Story

I heard a presentation from Freedon from Torture a little while ago, and it is a very worthwhile and moving cause. They have several centres around the country, but there is one in Birmingham. I suspect they will have more people in need with all the trouble in the world at the moment.

The first person to be treated by them, or what became them, was Eric Lomax, the Railway Man. He was tortured during the building of the Burma railway, and was treated about 30 years after having come back, I think. There's a good film about his story, called "The railway man", and there is a book, but I am not going to tell you what that is called.

Please sponsor me, and help them to help people who are in real need.
