Story
Steve has signed up to take part in the London to Paris cycle ride in June, covering 300 miles, to help raise money for Variety.
Although there is a family tradition of cycling, Steve is undertaking this challenge as a novice, having only taken up cycling at the end of 2013. Steve’s father, Trevor, is particularly jealous. He was an accomplished cyclist in his youth and tells stories of him and his friends cycling from Essex to Brighton and back for a day trip!
With precious little time before the ride in June and the weather continuing to hamper any training Steve has turned to a turbo trainer (set of rollers that the bike fits on to) to train indoors, when the weather is particularly grim outside.
Variety, the children’s charity, believe that all children should have an equal opportunity to reach their potential, regardless of their circumstances. All their programmes are designed to help less fortunate children to achieve precisely that.
We improve those young lives by providing practical help (such as Sunshine Coaches, wheelchairs and specialist equipment) and memorable childhood experiences.
Steve is keen to raise as much money as possible for this worthy charity: so please help him achieve this aim.
