Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our page, where we are asking for donations instead of flowers in loving memory of Steve.
Steve was a keen cyclist and athlete, loving son, father, brother and friend.
He was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in May 2020, despite having never smoked. Since then his optimistic attitude has been inspiring as he continued to take on mammoth challenges, including completing the London marathon in 2021 and Lairig Ghru marathon in his highland home.
Steve was the bravest of people and a passionate advocate for those who also suffered, which is so admirable at a time in which he was suffering so much himself. His outward attitude and commitment to helping others was invaluable. As such he became the treasurer of EGFR+ charity and thoroughly enjoyed speaking and working with like minded people. Therefore we ask for any donations to be given to EGFR+ and we hope to continue to work towards Steve’s goal of increased research, knowledge, treatment and awareness for lung cancer patients.
We could not be prouder of Steve and how he stood up and faced his challenges with such positivity and determination.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal.
