Story
Hello my FB buddies, I desperately need your support as I have committed to a challenge this year to cycle from Lands End to John o’ Groats for Teens Unite. I will be joined by a group of guys that have committed to the cause.
The ride is over 9 days and averaging 108 miles a day, so probably the second hardest challenge in my life. I cannot do this without your support so please, please dig deep and help me get the money needed to do this challenge.
A lot of you will be fully aware that I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic leukaemia in 2012 and I have been recovering ever since, but I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for the Medical team at UCLH.
This is my chance to give a little something back and maybe contribute to making a difference.
I have chosen Teens Unite as the charity, as I lost a friend that wasn’t as lucky as myself and sadly passed away, his life was only just starting and it was cruelly taken from him by this terrible disease. We can make a difference, but your help through donating can go a long way to changing things for the better.
Teens Unite is the only charity in the UK to provide on-going support to 13-24 year olds fighting cancer from diagnosis through to post-remission. Seven young people are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK and Teens Unite brings them together through workshops and activities so they can spend valuable time with others their age in a similar situation to themselves. The charity helps to rebuild the confidence and self-esteem of those it supports and prevents feelings of isolation during what can be a long and lonely battle.
