Story
Our beautiful and caring daughter Bethan died suddenly on February 8, 2020, at the age of just 21. This has obviously devastated the lives of myself, my wife, Jane, and our son, Rhys, who was so close to his big sister.
I am riding the Carten from Cardiff to Tenby on May 20 2023 (109 miles) and then Narberth to Cardiff via the Bwlch on May 21 2023 (106 miles).
I rode from Cardiff to Narberth in 2021 for the first Bike for Beth, and it was a tremendous success, raising money for Crohn's & Colitis UK, 2 Wish and the PCA Cricketers' Trust. Bethan loved Narberth and just like last time I will wear lots of pink, her favourite colour, and drink lots of hot chocolate, her favourite drink, on the way.
This year I will be riding to raise funds for 2 Wish, the Welsh bereavement charity, that have been so helpful to us as a family since Bethan's death. Its founder, Rhian Mannings, is an amazing and inspirational woman and you can read her tragic story here..https://www.2wish.org.uk/about-us/rhians-story/
Please support this if you can, and help a wonderful charity, as well as helping us as a family as we deal with the ongoing investigation into Bethan's death from sepsis and the fact that we were let down by the medics and she should not have died.
