MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! At approximately 0130 Sunday 19th June, I completed a continuous 1,000 mile motorcycle ride to raise funds for the Royal British Legion and Poppy Appeal in just over 20 hours.
By completing the ride within 24 hours qualifies me for membership the UK Arm of Amercia's Iron Butt Association, reserved for the 'world's toughest motorcycle riders'!
The ride started and finished at Squires Cafe, near Leeds, a round trip of 540 miles before I even started on the 1,000.
My anti-clockwise route from Squires took me across to Manchester and Telford, past the Welsh borders to Bristol, then down to Redruth. Then the long haul east to Dover via Southampton, and finally back up through London , M11, A14 and A1(M) to Leeds. Put another way it was the same as riding from John O'Groats to Lands End...then back to Bristol.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your money is sent directly to the charity and Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. It is a very efficient way to raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Please take the time to follow this link to the Legion Website. This describes work in progress, in particular, the establishment of four Recovery Centres in the UK.
