Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In March this year, my youngest son Ivan turned five. It was a poignant moment given that aged 18 months we were told he wouldn't live to see five without major heart surgery.
He did, and then after that experience he had to return for more surgery a few months later after he dislocated his ribcage during recovery. Ivan does not do things by halves.
Today he's strong and healthy thanks to the fantastic team of surgeons, nurses and carers at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital. I'm now trying to ride from London to Paris in 24 hours to raise money for GOSH. Not sensible, and I am dreading trying to keep it together through the exhaustion and lack of sleep, but it's the least I can do for the hospital that saved Ivan's life.
As the ride is in aid of the Alzheimer's Society first and foremost, I'm aiming to raise the first £1,000 for that charity and the remainder for GOSH. The work of the Alzheimer's Society is also close to my heart as several of my family have been afflicted.
Thanks to everyone who reads this and please do donate if you can.
