Fundraising for Cancer Research UK
In March 2013 I trekked from Lukla, the most dangerous airport in the world, to Mount Everest Base Camp.
The trek took me through some of the most extreme environments in the world, with temperatures of 18 degrees below zero and wind that can freeze the water in your eyes . . . so why go?
Well, my Mum died of cancer in January 2012
As you can imagine, this was devastating for me and I struggled to come to terms with her death.
I also felt frustrated and felt like I should be doing something . . . something fitting . . . in her memory
So having now lost both my Parents, my Grandad and other good friends to cancer, the youngest of which was only 27 years old, it seems fitting to raise money for Cancer Research UK
I also chose to trek to Everest Base Camp to raise the money as it felt like a fitting challenge and a suitably spiritual one
But it doesn't end with the trek. Now that I'm back I'm giving public talks to raise even more money to help beat this awful disease.
So if you've lost someone you Love to cancer or simply want to help raise money to beat this awful and distressing disease, please sponsor me
Thanks
Steve
