Together, Kent Wildlife Trust and Wildwood Trust are embarking on a flagship wilding project in West Blean and Thornden Woods, introducing bison as natural engineers of restoration.

Story

My brother, Sam Roberts, sadly passed away on 19th September 2023 after battling 2 serious medical conditions. He did go by a number of aliases, so you may know him by a different name.

We are asking for people to donate money to this worthy cause, rather than buying flowers for the funeral.

Sam and I visited Wild Wood (next to Blean Woods) shortly before the bison were released and got to see them up close. He was always keen on protecting woodland and loved woodland walks. We thought it would be a fittting tribute to him by helping this project in creating a pioneering template for sustainable woodland management across the UK.

Wildlife is in crisis. The natural world isn't just something for us to enjoy; it sustains us. The decline of nature puts our very survival and prosperity under threat. It doesn't have to be like this. Together we can take the nature and climate crises, together we can create a Wilder Kent.
