Story

So the deed has been done! An event historians are already calling the "St Valentine's Day Plait Massacre" The De-Plaiting was performed by my good lady wife with a certain degree of relish abely assisted by my long suffering barber Terry who has spent many years cutting around said plait. See the photos on this page.....

A huge thank you to everyone who donated!!!!!!!

So here’s the thing, as some of you may know my niece Jess has been recently diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis so I’ve been racking my brains for a way that I could raise a bit of money for an appropriate charity as a way of support.

I’ve thought about all the usual, climbing Kilimanjaro dressed as a Peach Melba yoghurt, running a half marathon backwards all that kind of stuff.

However I’ve decided for a far greater personal sacrifice: so here’s the plan…

I’ve decided to CUT MY PLAIT OFF!!!!!!!!!! in aid of charity.

For those of you, not completely in the know about my hair heritage, I last cut my hair at the back of my head nearly 30 years ago and apart from a couple of mishaps along the way like my mum accidentally setting it on fire; it’s never been cut since!  It’s been dyed multiple colours, dreadlocked and generally abused but never cut…

So I hope that you’ll donate to encourage me to cut it off.  Some of you have been suggesting for years that I should do this, so I will expect donations from you!! (You know who you are!!)

I’d like to raise money for a charity that gives holidays and other support to young sufferers of Cystic Fibrosis

Once the magic sum of at least £200 has been raised the scissors will be taken to my pride and joy.

Photos will of course be available of the event to prove the deed has been done.

So if you’ve ever wondered if it covered a bald patch (hope not) or if you just like the idea of a grow man crying over the last vestiges of his lost youth. Dig deep people and make it happen.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please donate now.
