On the 26th of June, I will be flying out to Tanzania as part of Raleigh ICS, where I will be volunteering for two months.

Raleigh International are a sustainable development charity, working in remote, rural areas to improve access to safe water and sanitation, build community resilience, to sustainably manage natural resources and to protect vulnerable environments. Their work in Tanzania focuses on youth entrepreneurship, improving community managed water and sanitation systems and building community resilience. I am volunteering with Raleigh International as apart of International Citizen Service (ICS), led by VSO and funded by the UK Government. ICS is a development programme that brings together young people from the UK and developing countries to volunteer in some of the poorest communities around the world. 

 As part of my ICS journey, there are three parts; fundraising, the placement itself and Action at home. Before I depart I need to raise £800. This money does not fund my volunteering but goes directly to the charity itself. Once i finish my placement I will continue to do my best to share my experience and raise awareness about the great work Raleigh International does. 

In the run up to my volunteering I will be holding a few fundraising events, soon to be announced. In light of my previous challenges, one of them will be physical!
