Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Hi! Thanks for visiting my sponsorship page in support of Parkinson's UK (formerly the Parkinson's Disease Society).

I've been lucky to get a place within the 2010 London Marathon and wanted to use the chance to raise money for a charity that means a lot to my family.  If you can give a few pounds to support the great work P-UKdoes I'd be hugely grateful.

I'm aiming to give the 26.2 mile run my best shot (it'll be my first marathon) and hope to do it in less than 4 hours.  It'll be gruelling on the day and the training is now getting serious (follow me on http://twitter.com/stephenpassmore for updates).

The day was hard in places but ultimately enjoyable - the crowd were fantastic and all your support kept me going, the Parkinsons UK volunteers I swear were the loudest around the course.  I crossed the finishing line in 4 hours 1 minute and 11 seconds.  My legs are a bit stiff now but it's all been worth it.  We've beaten my fundraising target already and there's still a few pledges to add onto this total which is fantastic.

Thanks for visiting and for all your support..
