Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In February 2007 I got a phone call that no son ever wants to receive. It was that come home immediately call because my father did not have long left. When you work in Edinburgh and have to get back to Northern Ireland that is no easy or short trip to make.

However, I managed to get a flight sorted and headed for the Marie Curie Hospice in Belfast. I spotted it from the air at the time that my father passed away and arrived too late to be beside him while he was still alive.

The support the Marie Curie gave my father and other family members either who got there on time or arrived too late at the time and since is the reason that I am running this marathon, for which my father entered teams from the Boys Brigade in the relay, to help raise money so that others can benefit from that care.
