As many of you know over the years I have spent many a long day and night in hospital with my daughter Teigan. She has a very rare genetic condition, ADA-SCIDS and kidney disease aHUS. After Teigan received her first Gene Therapy treatment at GOSH we were then transferred back to Yorkhill hospital where we spent many weeks/months. During this time I, the like many other parents with children in Yorkhill, stayed at the Ronald McDonald House.
Ronald McDonald House Yorkhill is a small independent charity that helps families out by providing accomodation for them whilst their child is ill or recieving treatment. They are not funded by the NHS or the Government and rely solely on fund raising money. They provide comfortable accommodation just 2 mins from the hospital where mums, dads, brothers and sisters can stay and relax.
As we enter into the unknown again this year, Teigan will again be heading to GOSH for Gene Therapy and will again be transferred back to Yorkhill. I may find myself in need of this charities help once more... so I urge you, please please dig deep and help me, help the Ronald McDonald House, help many more families.
