Story
Before COVID, at Allen Lane we had decided that our next challenge was going to be our most exciting yet. Pushing our bodies and minds to the limit with a combination of intense trekking, long kayaks and sleepless nights in tents... 2 years later, we're
finally going ahead.
Some new faces, and a new cause - Disaster Emergency Committee knowing that our fundraising push (we're hoping to raise £14,000 across the participants and wider business) will go a long way
to helping those in Ukraine, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Intense conflict in Ukraine is threatening the lives and livelihoods of civilians across the country, causing millions to flee. Homes have been destroyed. Essential services have been hit. Families have been separated. People have been injured. Lives have been lost.
DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.
£30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month, £50 could provide blankets for 4 families to keep them warm, £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month.
More than 8 million people are on the brink of famine in
Afghanistan as drought, conflict and the Covid-19 pandemic cause a
catastrophic rise in hunger. Children are dying today, and a million more under the age of five are at risk of dying over the next three months. We need to act now to save lives.
As we do in Pakistan where floods killed over 1,000 people and left millions in desperate need.
Please give generously - help us towards our target and more importantly, help us to help those most in need.
