Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In a moment of lunacy I decided to participate in the RNLI Reindeer Run in Dean Castle Country Park which takes place on the 6th December 2009 and then convinced Simon to do it too! So next Sunday, Simon and I will be running a 10k race around Dean Castle in Kilmarnock raising money for the RNLI.
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea by providing a 24-hour lifesaving service around the UK and Republic of Ireland. Last year RNLI lifeboats rescued almost 8,000 people, an average of 21 people a day unfortunately the running costs average around £378,000 a day and an all-weather kit for for one crew member costs around £1000 with even a spare pair of gloves costing £16!
For every £1 donated, 84p is spent on operations and 16p is spent on generating income so they need all the help they can get. Please give anything you can.
If you would like further information about the RNLI, who they are and what they do and further information about how to support the RNLI please seen their website: www.rnli.org.uk
Cheers
Steph
