This year due to the global Covid-19 Pandemic, Liskeard Community Fire Station have decided to hold a Charity car wash and Iron Man Triathlon, in alignment social distancing guidelines to raise money for The Firefighters Charity.
On Sunday 2nd August between 1000-1500 the Wholetime Crew will be completing an Iron Man Triathlon whilst the on call crew will washing cars for a donation of your choice.
The Iron Man Triathlon consists of a 2.4 mile swim in a water dam on station, a 112 mile bike ride on a spin bike and a 26 mile run of laps around the station.
The Firefighters Charity is there when we need then and offers specialist lifelong support for members of the UK's fire service's community, empowering individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives.
Through provision pf personalised support, tailored to the specific needs of each of its beneficiaries, its expert teams deliver the right support, in the right way, in the right place and at the right time to ensure the best long-term results for everyone they work with.
Whether a member of our staff are injured, recovering from an illness, suffering from stress or anxiety - the teams charity take the time to understand each person's mental, physical and social needs and is always there for us when we need them the most.
The Charity works with each of its beneficiaries to design a pathway of support that could include community-based support, further advice and information, a stay at one its residential centres or a combination of options. The aim, however, is always the same; to help people move forward positively in their lives.
