Fundraising for The Pituitary Foundation
Dear patients, friends and colleagues,
Thank you all for your generous support to raise funds for the Pituitary Foundation.
After my Santa Run adventure in December 2010 I have signed up for the British 10 k in July 2011. Unfortunately an injury stopped me from runnung. My daughter Friedi, currently medical student at Bristol, without training but determination and youth on her side, decided to step in and run the 10 k for me to support the Pituitary Foundation!
The pituitary gland is the conductor of the hormonal orchestra of our body, sending signals to the major endocrine glands. Pituitary disease is relatively rare, but usually requires lifelong management. It often includes a range of hormone replacement therapies. Such chronic illness can be very traumatic for the patient and carers, involving changes to lifestyle, work capabilities and self-image, as well as issues of coping directly with the illness itself.
Thank you for all your support!,
