Story
Hello, thankyou for visiting my JustGiving page!
My name is Stefanie Martini, I'm 21 years old and welcome!
Over the past few years I have been trying to get as much experience as an actor as possible, and have had many inspirational and exciting experiences. Luckily, I formed great links with the Bristol Old Vic theatre who gave me amazing opportunities, from taking part in a one-year devising course 'Made in Bristol' with their outreach department, resulting in performing our show 'I Would Not' at the National Theatre, to leading workshops with their young company. Although this kept me very busy, I've also been able to be part of productions such as 'Coram Boy', at the Colston Hall as a physical ensemble member, and the taking the time to work and audition. I am honoured to have been offered places at three fantastic drama schools; the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and East 15 School of Acting. I've learnt so much from those around me recently, and now I am going on to learn so much more at RADA!
It has taken me two years to get a place at RADA, as it is so competitive; over 3000 people audition each year, for around 30 places. There's a 0.4% chance getting in! I am so happy to be going there in September, as it's been my dream from when I was tiny, and to have the best possible chance of being able to live your life doing what you love is more than most people ever get to wish for.
Drama School education is known to be incredibly intense, with sometimes 60-70 hours a week doing vocational training in movement, voice, and acting technique. I'm really looking forward to getting the most out this! However, in order for the students to give themselves fully to the course, it's advised not to take on a job as well during term time. It's important to have time to sleep!
Although I have been helped by student finance, and am fortunate enough to have parental support, I am falling short of the steep cost of living in London for one year. Although I am working my hardest to make up the difference I would still greatly appreciate any help I could get! If you can donate and are a UK tax payer, please remember to opt in for Gift Aid!
Thanks and appreciation,
Stef
