Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are Alan "Stan" Staniland; Helen Coombes; Karen Schofield; Max Staley; Sam Penney and Simon Kenny; and together we are the Steely Striders. The above photo shows us gathered outside the Winter Gardens in Sheffield looking steely, determined, (and cold) and ready to launch ourselves onto the Step Challenge 2016 in aid of The Prince's Trust, Capita's charity partner.

The Step Challenge involves competing against other Capita teams to be the first to complete a virtual walk from The Prince’s Trust Southampton centre to the neighbouring Trust centres across the UK.  The virtual route is approximately 881 miles, which is around 1,762,000 steps; just over 10,000 steps a day for each team member participating.

The Step Challenge will raise money for The Prince’s Trust and the incredible work they do for disadvantaged young people across the UK.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.
