Story
I learnt how Freshfields started and I'm in.
Here's the story:
Freshfields started over 40 years ago on an ordinary day. A woman called Lesley saw a man and his dog enter a vet room, and only the man leave. She asked after the dog, the vet said it wasn’t wanted and had been put down. Upset and angry, she told the vet this must never happen again and to call her first next time.
That day she vowed she would not allow that to happen to another animal. She would protect them…for life. Lesley got loads of calls…and eventually outgrew her home in Freshfields.
A lot has progressed since but the promise never did. A promise that obviously matters to every animal out there, and to every person who has had surrender their best mate in dire personal circumstances and know they will be kept safe and found a great new life.
Today, Freshfieds have 500 animals on site every day, and protect, rehome or release endangered wildlife and stray or escaped farmed animals as well as pets across the whole of the North West and Wales.
Each and every story a tragedy made good.
Its a disgrace that 99% of vets today are still being asked to put down a healthy pet and it is expected to get worse.
I would love you to support me and the team at the rescue to keep that promise of safety today.
That way we can make sure that animals get the protection we would give them if faced with the situation ourselves.
Cheers :)
