Story
I am proud Young Ambassador for Starchild.
Please join me in the Starchild Sunflower Challenge. Plant a sunflower & let’s brighten these uncertain times with hope & new beginnings.
You could even draw a sunflower & put it in your window to show you’re taking part in the challenge 🌻
Post pictures on Twitter: @StarChildUganda or Facebook: Starchild in Memory of Frankie Marsh & let’s see how tall they grow!
Starchild helps children like me, with autism & other disabilities, here in Scotland & in Uganda.
Starchild is in the process of planning & building a holistic centre for families affected by autism on the grounds of the Mango Tree School & Learning Centre in Jinja, Uganda called the Sunflower Sanctuary.
In Uganda, a few families were already known to Starchild as having children with special needs. Most are kept hidden such is the stigma surrounding disability. On hearing the news there was help coming, 50 families turned up with their disabled children. None have a formal diagnosis, most have been hidden away & all need help. This is before the first foundation stone has even been laid for the Sunflower Sanctuary.
Please help me by joining in the Starchild Sunflower Challenge & hopefully raise some money for such a worthy cause. Any donation big or small is so gratefully received.
Last October, I organised for special sensory toys to go over to Uganda to bring some joy to these young people until their school is built.
I hope you enjoy watching this short film of them receiving their gifts. Thank you.
