Story
Hello!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After having to withdraw from the Great North Run due to injury last year, I'm finally hoping to take up my place at the start line this year. To add to the challenge, I'm hoping to complete the Richmond Half Marathon a week later...two for the price of one! I still have the injury that hampered me last year, plus a few more that I've picked up since, however by hook or by crook I am determined to get around both courses. I'm running in aid of Beating Bowel Cancer and a few niggles and injuries are nothing compared to what those going through treatment have to encounter every day. Chris is running both races with me (or rather ahead of me, way off in the distance) and together we hope to raise a bit of dosh and some much needed awareness for this fabulous charity.
As many of you know, Beating Bowel Cancer is a very important charity to me and my nearest and dearest. Chris' Dad has had his 5 years clear from bowel cancer (hurrah!), a friend of mine kicked it's butt in similar fashion and I have many friends who have loved ones battling the disease.
Beating Bowel Cancer is the support and campaigning charity for everyone affected by bowel cancer. They provide practical and emotional help – on the phone, digitally and face to face. They're proud to run the UK‘s only nurse-led specialist helpline for bowel cancer which patients call a ‘lifeline’.
Any pennies you can give towards the cause will be much appreciated. Whether or not you can spare any cash, please, please, please take a look at the Beating Bowel Cancer website to educate yourself on the symptoms. It may save your life one day.

Thank you.
