We are committed to joining Christian Aid in campaigning to eradicate poverty and fight injustice in the world. We are hoping to raise £1,750 this year and beat our 2016 sum of £1,589
Many of us in the UK can access water simply by turning on a tap. But in Malawi, millions of farmers are struggling to grow their crops because of increasingly erratic rainfall. Magalita is a single Mum trying to feed her three children but her annual maize crop only feeds them for half a year. Christian Aid has helped Magalita by introducing an irrigation system which supplies plants and crops with water when there hasn't been much rain.
Bu supporting our swim you can give hope to people like Magalita. The money we raise will help lift some of the world's poorest out of poverty.
The swim will be at the Erdington Leisure Centre B24 9EJ. We'll meet after Church on 15th January at 11.30, have a snack together to build up our strength, then drive in car shares to Erdington, do our epic (!) swim at 1pm and then return to the Church Hall for a bring and share lunch/tea, supplemented by pizzas kindly provided by the Plough.
