Story
Our Year 6 pupils have shown their leadership skills by asking to raise funds for Macmillan. In recent months and years our community has been affected by cancer in many ways and we want to show our families who are suffering that we care deeply about them and stand with them through their journey to recovery.
The plan is to allow all the children to wear crazy socks, to host a live online raffle and auction and to host a hot-chocolate & cookies party for the children.
We are also going to auction a painting by Mrs Mackman and Mrs Mackman's father, local artist Dai Griffiths, is also donating a picture, if you make a donation here you are automatically entered to our auction / raffle. (Let the JS office know if you want to be entered but have donated anonymously.) Daisy Mackman is also donating a signed copy of the book she illustrated so beautifully 'Wherever George is'.
Then half way through this special morning we are going to embrace 'Brave the Shave' and provide a grade 2 lock down hair cut for two of our teachers. Which teachers will it be? Will it be Mrs Rowe, Mrs Sims, Mrs Adams, Mrs Mayo, Mr Marsh, Mrs Laslett, Ms Caddick, Miss Timcke, Mr Brown, Mrs Brown - keep guessing? Watch our social media accounts to find out who.
We've been overwhelmed by all the donations so far, thank you all so much and please do tell your friends that we are having a very special fundraising day.
All Junior School children will participate in all events, we just ask that families who wish to do so, make an online donation towards Macmillan Cancer Support.
25/9/2020 Update: Well done to all involved and a massive thank you to everyone who has, or is about to, donate, We have been blown away by your generosity. Get well soon to all who are suffering. Love from SLC Junior School.
