We work with food suppliers and charities to fight food waste and hunger in London

Story

The mission of the Felix Project is simple - to take surplus food from their suppliers and deliver it to any charity that helps feed people. It's all nutritious and would otherwise go to waste. Not only that, but it helps fight food poverty and reduces costs for hardworking organisations.

Before Christmas our street did something pretty unusual, fixing two continuous strings of festive lights across all the houses on both sides, so the whole street is illuminated end to end. It was a symbol of connection, togetherness, light and hope among the current difficulties. It has been widely praised by local residents, many of whom have gone out of their way to walk down the road after dark to enjoy the lights.

We decided to keep them up for at least January, so that people could continue to enjoy them. We've renamed them the St James Avenue Lockdown Lights. At the same time we thought we'd try to raise some funds for The Felix Project, to alleviate a little food poverty in hard times. Please think about donating even a small amount to this very worthy cause, while you enjoy the lights!
