This year Spark Sunderland have adopted Grace House as our chosen charity of the year. We wish to help them make a difference in the North East for children with life-limiting illnesses as they open the first childrens hospice in the area. They will be aiding families from Sunderland, as far north as Berwick-on-Tweed, and as far down as Hartlepool and Teesside.

There are so many under 18's in the North East who desperately need this long term attention and care, their families need it too. The hospice will not simply be a place to die, but a place to relax and enjoy, even celebrate life. Parents will be able to go there - for free - to recuperate from the full time job of caring for an ill child.
