Harry Potter and Quidditch Societies from the South West and South Wales are banding together to create a Harry Potter Charity Quiz. The quiz will consist of 8 rounds: one per each book, and one for Fantastic Beasts.

We have chosen several charities close to our hearts to raise money for with this quiz: Mermaids, the Trevor Project and the Harry Potter Alliance. There will be a JustGiving page for each charity for attendees to choose how they give, with a £5 suggested donation.

Mermaids is a UK charity that has been working to support transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse children as well as their families and professionals.

The Trevor Project is also an LGBTQ+ charity that provides crisis intervention and s****** prevention for the Under 25s of the community in the US.

The final charity is the Harry Potter Alliance, an organisation looking to harness the power of the HP fandom to help change the world for the better and which came out with a statement against J.K.Rowling’s recent essay about transgender issues.

With these three charities, we hope to show that there is no room for hate, only love and support. We hope to raise enough money to make an impact for all three charities. Praxis is often the best way to show support to a community and make the world at large a better place.
