We really appreciate your donation to the SANDS charity and feel that this is an extremely worthwhile cause.
You are probably aware that James and I recently had a stillborn baby boy named Charlie James Trim on the 9th August 2014. We lost Charlie just 2 days before our due date. There were no warning signs and the news came as a complete shock to us. We were fortunate to have the support from our amazing family and friends and the care we received at UHCW hospital was exceptional.
The statistics for stillbirth and neonatal death in the UK are shocking and new research has revealed that the UK has one of the highest stillbirth rates in the developed world; 17 babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth every single day, yet very little is being done to bring this horrific number down. We believe that this figure is totally unacceptable and SANDS have been working hard to raise awareness of stillbirth and newborn baby death, not only with the media but also amongst the government and policy makers.
On the 23rd November people from across the country will be taking part in a 12 hour bake off from 8am to 8pm! We will be uploading hourly pictures so you can see how we are getting on.
