Story
We are running our first marathon and Soph is running her first half marathon in Cambridge (5th March). We want to raise funds for this important charity to help all those affected by brain tumours.
My sister, Sophie Morris, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer in October 2013. Sophie was given a life expectancy of just 15 months. Coming up to 3 and a half years post diagnosis, I'm fortunate enough to be able to tell you that Sophie is still with us and is as determined and courageous as ever in her battle (and I mean 'battle') with brain cancer, giving Sophie precious time with her three beautiful children, her partner, family and friends. Sophie's children were 5 months old, 3 and 5 when Sophie was first diagnosed.
Sophie is a very private person but despite this has channelled lots of love and energy into raising awareness of brain cancer and raising money for this charity. It's almost 3 year since Sophie set up her just giving page and it stands at nearly £90,000 as family, friends and beyond have taken part in numerous charity events.
We have a HUGE personal reason to run and this will keep us running with love, smiles, determination & hopefully some laughter too, with thoughts of Sophie and all those affected by brain tumours.
The Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain tumours, making a difference every day to the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families. We fund pioneering research to increase survival, raise awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours and provide support for everyone affected to improve quality of life. We are committed to having the biggest possible impact for every person affected by a brain tumour, and to defending the most amazing part of the human body.
