Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon 2014 · 24 January 2014 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Chloe and Soph are taking on various running challenges in the Middle East in order to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society. They both have personal experience of just how devastating Alzheimer's disease and dementia can be and feel passionate about supporting research in to their early diagnosis, prevention and cure.

Together they'll be running the Dubai Marathon and the Wadi Bih, a 72km relay through the mountains in Oman, in January and February 2014.

Soph is running in memory of her Nana, who passed away in November 2013 and spent the last years of her life living with vascular dementia.

Chloe is running in support of her Nan who continues to suffer from the same terrible disease, and of her Grandad, as her devoted carer.
