Every week in the UK, around two families are told their child has neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer. We fund leading research projects to deliver new, effective and kinder treatments for children with neuroblastoma. With your help we can save more young lives.

Story

Welcome to my Just Giving fundraising page! I am running the 2025 Bournemouth Half Marathon for Neuroblastoma UK. Every year over 100 children are diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in the UK. The survival rate of Neuroblastoma in children is around 50%, however for children with relapsed Neuroblastoma (which can happen to around 75% of children) there is currently only a 5% chance that they will survive. My youngest brother, Rex got diagnosed with Stage 4 High risk neuroblastoma shortly after his 3rd birthday. originally it started out as what we thought was a viral infection, therefore we didn’t think much of the situation and thought he would get better. but it then led to him not being able to walk and that’s when he began his hospital stay which was around 5 weeks ago now. he has undergone so many blood tests, transfusions, MRI’s, x-rays and surgeries in such a small space of time. he began his chemotherapy around 2 weeks ago now and will be ongoing for at least 18 months. My goal is to raise at least £400 to help raise awareness of Neuroblastoma. Even just a share of this page would mean the absolute world. And I cannot wait to run for this charity in October.
