Fundraising for Alzheimer's Society
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running in the ASICS 10K in London on Sunday (complete with shinsplints). As it’s a charitable event, I'll be raising money for the Alzheimer's Society. Nearly half a million people in the UK have the disease. My grandmother had it. So did Gavin's. His uncle was diagnosed with it in his late 40s while still a pilot for a commercial airline. My mother in law's sister had it. She died last week. My grandmother didn't get the treatment that was available at the time, which could have helped, at least for a while. The Alzheimer's Society campaigns for a fairer deal for people with dementia and their carers and needs your support to make dementia a higher priority. · People with dementia often have to pay for essential care. · Two thirds of people with dementia never receive a formal diagnosis. · The government invests eight times less in dementia research than cancer research. · We can only improve the lives of people with dementia by putting pressure on politicians and policy makers. We need as many people as possible to get involved in our campaigns and help us make a real difference. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. So please dig deep and donate now.Thank you Sophie* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
