Story
I know, another bike ride! This time however I thought I would put just a tad more pressure on myself and cycle 350 miles in the equivalent of a sauna! I love the sun and 27 degrees on a white sandy beach is my idea of heaven... but 40 degrees on a bike is not...which is why I am doing this ride.
In March 2016 I will be cycling through Thailand and Burma to pay homage to the “forgotten Army”, soldiers who fought in the Burma Campaign during the 2nd World War. Starting in Bangkok, Thailand, we’ll follow the infamous Burma Railway while visiting historical sites including the Hellfire Pass and the Bridge over the River Kwai. We will also have the opportunity to learn about the circumstances leading to the railway’s construction and will visit key battlefield sites from the ‘Burma Campaign’ of 1942. This is not for the faint hearted and it will be a tough ride. There will long days in the saddle with some challenging undulations as well as cycling in the heat and humidity of south-east Asia. So please be as generous as you can and help sponsor me so I can raise as much as possible for our wounded heroes.
