Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Running a full marathon is my ultimate goal, so why not start with a half marathon! I told myself 6 months ago, when I signed up to complete this challenge with my friend.
I have always wanted to challenge myself on this level because I am not a runner in the slightest, nor am I the fittest person to do this, so it makes me want to prove myself even more! My training is much more easier to do also, as I stay inspired knowing that any money I raise will go to Cancer Research Uk.
I always knew that when I would take part in an event like this, Cancer Research UK would definitely be my choice of charity. I don't have any personal experiences with cancer, nor do I have any family members that's have been affected, but whether we like it or not the C word does affect us all. To Cancer we are just a number and I don't believe we should live our lives naive to this disease not ever affecting us, nor do I believe that we should constantly worry about any chance of being diagnosed. However these two options are the reality of how we all live day by day. I'm not claiming I will raise so much that a cure for all will be found, but if I can push myself to face the biggest challenge that I've faced for many reasons, it's a little step further for future developments within research to be found.
What keeps me going is the fact that whatever pain I may be in for the so many hours of completing this half marathon, it is nothing compaired to the challenges people with cancer experience on a day to day basis! Therefore, I have no excuse!!! Xxx
