We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge which is a 25 mile hike over the 3 tallest moutains in the Yorkshire Dales which needs to be completed within 12 hours. Why am I doing this you ask?! Well it's all in support of Alzheimer's Research!

Facts to think about:

There are over 820,000 people living with dementia in the UK today, a number forecast to rise rapidly as the population ages

25 million people, or 42% of the UK population, know a close friend or family member with dementia.

One in three people aged over 65 will die with a form of dementia.

As well as the huge personal cost, dementia costs the UK economy £23 billion a year, more than cancer and heart disease combined. Despite these figures, dementia research is desperately underfunded.

Please support this charity which focuses on the prevention, cure and treatment of dementia!
