We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

My auntie Carole was our everything and her passing has left a huge gap in our lives. As well as being an all-around amazing and kind person, she was healthy, fit and the brain tumour came out of nowhere. We miss her every day.

As well as running in Carole's memory, I want to raise money to help those affected by brain tumours and ensure there is support for those that are impacted by this terrible illness.

I'm running alongside amazing people from brain tumour research. Some have lost children, husbands, wives, sisters and brothers to brain tumours. Some are running with brain tumours themselves. There is such little funding and research into this awful illness despite it being the biggest cancer killer of those under 40.

Please help me to raise as much money as possible for them. Please help spread the word about brain tumours and notice the symptoms early. Common symptoms include:

  • headaches.
  • seizures (fits)
  • persistently feeling sick (nausea), being sick (vomiting) and drowsiness.
  • mental or behavioural changes, such as memory problems or changes in personality.
  • progressive weakness or paralysis on one side of the body.
  • vision or speech problems.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
