Help for Heroes is a fantastic charity supporting servicemen and women, their familes, and veterans, who have been wounded either physically or psychologically during the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.  They're not a political organisation and they don't get involved in the rights or wrongs of war, they just support the people who've been hurt by it...

Here are just a very few of the incredible projects they support:
Combat Stress: An organisation that has been providing psychological support to veterans since 1919
Battle Back: a programme which supports injured or sick individuals through outdoor and activities, as well as at an elite level as part of the Paralympic Development programme.  
Winston's Wish: provides support for bereaved children and young people up to the age of 18. 
Skill Force: H4H created an internship program for wounded servicemen and women suffering from mental or physical injuries to work with and mentor young people to instil a culture of respect and mutual support, and encourage more people into education, training or employment.
